Parent/Guardian Third Party Access fsu.edu | Technology Services Help Desk

1) Third Party Access is a utility under Secure Apps that allows student to give others access to certain aspects of their FSU account, most commonly it is used to allow parents to view their child's grades and pay tuition. The process of creating third party access comes in two steps which are outlined below:

Part 1 - Student creates the third party relationship

A) To create a third party relationship the student must initiate it with Secure Apps by clicking on the link "Parent/Third-Party Access". This will bring up the page shown below, please take time to read the authorization agreement and click on the button if you agree with the terms.

B) You will then see a popup window with a box prompting you to enter the email address of the person you wish to grant limited access to your account, once the email address is entered then click the OK button to proceed.

C) If the email address is not detected in the FSU system, it will ask if you wish to create the account. Click OK if you wish to proceed.

D) Now you will be shown the menu where you can decide how much access you wish to give other parties, there is a drop-down box with a list of choices shown below. Select one from the list and click the Add button to allow access to that task, then another Add button will appear to select another task. You can also click the Add All button to allow all listed tasks to be assigned to this person, then you want to choose the relationship you have from that drop-down box. Once you are finished then click the Save button to save all the details.

E) Below is the same form with several tasks assigned to the third party, once you done click the Save button to confirm the changes. Now you want to notify the third party that you have granted them access to your information, and have them perform the steps in Part 2 to create their FSUID account.

Part 2 - Third party activates their FSUID account

A) Once the student has created the third party relationship as shown above, then the person to whom access has been granted must create their FSUID account. An email will arrive in your mailbox informing you that you have been granted third party access, you can click on the link in the email to reset the password or visit the site campus.fsu.edu as shown below. Once you are at the site simply click the link "Reset Your Password" as highlighted in the graphic.

B) You will then be taken to the "Forgot Your Password?" form which is shown below, it will ask you for your FSUID which is the email address that the student registered for you in the system. Simply enter it into the box provided and click the submit button to continue.

C) You will then be shown the page below informing you that an email has been sent to your account, the email will have a link that you can click on to allow you to create a new password. Depending on your email provider it can take up to one hour for the email to arrive, so be patient if it doesn't show up in your inbox immediately.

D) Once you have reset the password you are done! Simply return to the website campus.fsu.edu and sign in to view the information your student gave you access to, for more information on using navigating the system please visit our Secure Apps web page located here.
