VACATION NOTIFICATION

Vacation notification does exactly what its name implies. Vacation notification automatically replies to any email sent to your account, notifying the sender that you are away. The Vacation notification message sent includes the date you will return from vacation, and may also include the name of an alternate contact and an email address or phone number where you may contacted you while you are away. The vacation notification is an automated generic response; however, if you are familiar with the Unix environment, you can access your account and edit the message to be sent.

*Email forwarding and vacation requests cancel each other out. If you forward your email then activate a vacation notice, the forward will no longer be active. If you activate a vacation notice on your account, then forward it, the vacation notice will no longer be active.

EMAIL MANAGEMENT

Please use the following instructions to ensure your POP3 and/or IMAP email account is setup properly.

EMAIL FORWARDING

If you have another email account that you check on a regular basis, such as Hotmail or Yahoo, may find it easier to forward your Mailer account to that account. This will allow you to login to your primary account and check both email inboxes. If your professor utilizes a class mailing list, you will need to be mindful that some email systems treat class mailing list messages as ‘bulk’ or ‘junk’ mail, and may not be viewable in your Inbox..

*Email forwarding and vacation requests cancel each other out. If you forward your email then put in a vacation notice, the forward will no longer be active. If you put a vacation notice on your account, then forward it, the vacation notice will no longer be active

EMAIL PRIVACY

You may wish to have your email address added or removed from the FSU Directory. You will need to complete the Online Email Directory Privacy Options form to be added or removed from the directory. The change will be processed at the top of the hour.
