If you don't need to use the Startup
Wizard, begin at the the Optional
Account Setup Instructions.
1. The first time that Outlook 2007 is opened, you should
see the Startup wizard.

2. Click Next, choose 'Yes' to configure an Email account,
then click Next again.

***Optional Account Setup information***
1a. To add an account to your previously setup Outlook client,
while Outlook is open by going to Tools -> Account
Settings as shown below

2a. In the Account Setting Dialog box, click New

3. Choose "Internet Email", then click Next.

4. Leave the text fields blank, place a checkmark in the box next to "Manually
configure server settings or additional server types", and
click on Next.

5. User information. Fill in your user information appropriately(your
name and your email address)
Logon information. Your user name is everything before the @symbol in your
email address. Type your password. If you want Outlook to remember your password,
check the Remember Password box.
Server Information. Your incoming mail server will be imap.fsu.edu.
Outgoing server will be smtp.fsu.edu
NOTE***These outgoing server
has been confirmed by Comcast, NetTally, Apogee Net and Embarq, confirm the
outgoing settings with your local ISP if you are located outside of the Tallahassee
area or ISP not referenced in these instructions
Test Settings. This is optional.
Do not check Log on Using Secure Password Authentication (SPA).
Click the More Settings option.

6. Click the tab Outgoing Server, then check "My
outgoing server (SMTP) requires authentication", then check 'Log
on using'. Enter your FSUID
and password as shown below.
Click on the tab "Advanced"

7. Place a check in the This Server Requires a Secure Connection
box under the Incoming Server (IMAP). This will change the number to 993. Click
ok.
You can use port 25, 465 or 587. They all work the same and all need TLS. (
Sometimes 25 is blocked at the Windows Firewall or in Norton or McAfee)

8. Click Next, then Click Finish.
