First choose 'Address Book' from the 'Tools' drop down menu in Eudora.

The click the 'Directory Services' tab at the bottom of the 'Address Book'.

Then click on 'LDAP' in the 'Protocols' box, and then click 'New Database'.

In the 'Modify Database' box which pops up, fill addressbook.fsu.edu in the 'Name' field and the 'Host Name:' field, then fill '637' in the 'Port' field and check both the 'This server requires me to log on' and the 'Use SSL' check boxes. Then fill in your FSUID and Password in the 'Account Name' and 'Password' fields.

Now select the 'Attributes' tab, then click 'Add'. In the box that pops up, fill in 'telephoneNumber' in the 'Attribute Name' field, and choose 'Phone(w)' from the drop down list for the 'Presented As' field and click 'OK'. Then click 'Add' a second time, and fill in 'displayName in the Attribute Name' field, and choose 'Name' from the drop down list for the 'Presented As' field and click 'OK'.

Then choose the 'Search Options' tab, and in the field labeled 'Search Base', replace 'c=US' with 'ou=people,dc=fsu,dc=edu', also in the field labeled 'Word-wise Search Filter:', replace '(cn=*^0*)' with (displayName=*^0*) . Then click 'OK'.

You should now be back on the 'Directory Services' tab of the 'Address Book' You should now be able to query addressbook.fsu.edu by, for example, typing in your last name in the 'Query' field, and clicking 'Start'.

The first search you run, maybe slow, especially if you have other configured servers under the 'Databases' list. You should delete services that you do not use.
